The Monarch Butterfly  is one of the ten Most Threatened Animals On The Planet according to Mellisa Breyer of Care2.com.

This article is small snippet of a larger ten piece slide show that has listed, along with the Monarch, Polar Bears,  Mountain Gorillas, Bangled Tigers and several other species that do not reside in the US. This should not detract from the importance of this article though.

Every day, somewhere in the world, a species goes extinct.  With all of the wild life advocates (World Wild Life Fund being one of the foremost aid providers) we should not be seeing this. There are also hundreds of threatened and endangered species right here in New York State as well!!
