Crystal Falls is part of a whitewater rafting route located on the Moose River

 

Crystal Falls – Lyons Falls

Location: Lyons Falls, Lyonsdale Town

Parking and Trailhead: 43.61345, 75.32694
Stream/River/Watershed: Moose River
Height of Falls/Type: 30 ft, Cascade Class 5.1 Rapids
Level of Difficulty/Hiking Distance: Easy to Difficult, depending on if you go down closer to the river. This is a steep bank.

Comments/Notes: The directions and access provided below is available during the times of the year that the Moose River Fest is being held. This is the easiest access. There is access across the river, which I had tried at two different times, and unless you are actually following or with someone that knows the area well, you can get turned around. Parking is along side of the road. Walk up the road entering the Fortisus Facility, head straight back on the left side of the building to the woods line. You will see a trail that looks very well used. The view of the falls is down below. There are foot paths along the top here, use caution as it drops off to the river below. From here if you look up the river, you can see Powerline Falls in the distance.

Directions: From the intersection of Hwy 12 and Hwy 12d in Lyons Falls, get on McAlpine St and drive northeast for .4 miles.Turn right onto Center St and drive for .5 miles. Turn left onto Laura St and drive for .8 miles. Bear left onto Lyonsdale Rd and drive for .8 miles. This will be the entrance for the Fortisus Energy Plant.
