Could you go ahead and rehydrate that cliff face for me.

…Yeah… That’d be great……

We all know that one guy. You know, the guy who everyone knows and relies on for a great story. The one that always has a great idea for any given situation. Don’t you? Well, maybe you’re that guy (or gal)! And, yes, that IS GREAT!

We had the opportunity over the weekend to stage a meetup at John Boyd Thacher State Park to hike and discuss the future plans of Dig The Falls. Some of our team were present, but we missed out on a couple members who were either traveling or just came back from long trips. We missed you guys!!

“…mine was pretty good, don’t get me wrong…”

In a turn of fortunate events, That Guy  showed up and rescued us from what started off as a VERY dry hike. Russell Dunn, the renowned author of so many waterfall books paid us a visit. Not only did he want to be involved, but his idea for the hike was so much better than mine (mine was pretty good, don’t get me wrong) we decided to follow him on a grand history lesson.

We started out at the Paint Mine Trail Head parking area and walked north to a historic waterfall that only Mr. Dunn and a handful of other individuals knew about. You may have read one or two articles about this location, but there isn’t much else as far as the history behind the dried up waterfall. We will be adding that story at another time and place!

We also promised that a huge announcement would be made during the meetup and there was. We believe that this announcement will forever change the way people will eventually view waterfall bearing areas and we hope that this will be a paradigm shift that everyone needs, in order to start properly respecting these areas and helping to return these areas to safe, clean and beautiful places to visit for future generations.

We will be sending out announcements by way of Facebook invites, emails campaigns and other forms of social media once we have finalized the last few details, but we know you will love it!

Stay Tuned and Happy Waterfalling!!
