Hulls Falls

Hulls Falls is a large 20-foot waterfall formed on the East Branch of the Ausable River as it winds along Hulls Falls Road in Keene.

Getting there: From Underwood (junction of Routes 73 & 9), drive northeast on Route 73 for ~11.1 miles (or 2.6 miles north of the junction of Route 73 & Adirondack Street in Keene Valley) and turn left onto Hulls Falls Road (the name being a dead giveaway that there is a waterfall nearby). From Holt’s Corner (junction of Routes 73 & 9N South), drive south on Route 73 for 0.5 miles, and turn right.

Coming from either direction, head northwest for 0.8 miles and park next to the bridge [44º14.147’N 73º47.735’W]. Hulls Falls is directly on the west side of the bridge. At one time it was possible to scamper down to the base of the fall, but those days are gone, and the posted signs are not there to be disobeyed. Like Split Rock Falls near New Russia, this waterfall has simply been a magnet attracting swimmers and sun-worshippers, and there have been a number of accidents at the fall.

This waterfall can be found in the Adirondack Waterfall Guide by Russell Dunn.
