The Falls in East Nassau are a bit of a mystery. Falls or Rapids, we are unsure but beautiful they are!

Located not too far away from Albany, the capital of NY, The Falls of East Nassau is a nice retreat from the hustle of the city. This small burg is home to these beautiful little waterfalls nestled inside a small natural area. The waterfalls range from about 15′ to as small as a couple of feet high; more like rapids over river rocks.

While the waterfalls may seem small, the area is very nice to visit and is easily accessible. The most difficult part of the journey is the trail down the creek bank. This is a matter of several feet of loose dirt and gravel, though.

A moderate sized parking area is located just before the fifth house on the right, heading south on Tayer Rd, from Rt. 66. It will seem as though you are pulling into a secondary drive for the home, but you are in the right spot.

Pack some snacks and sit creek side for an afternoon meal, or visit while the fall foliage is at its peak. Either way, this area is a great spot to spend a day relaxing.
