This location is featured in Waterfalls of New York State. Purchasing a copy of this book helps us continue our efforts to clean up beautiful areas such as this one!

Driving to this location can be difficult without a vehicle with higher ground clearance. A few years back we visited in our Honda Civic. I am a pretty skilled driver, so we were able to make it in but ended up with some scratches due to having to drive against the ‘wall’ of the roadway to avoid the deep tracks created on the road over time.

From the parking area (GPS above) you will find a well-traveled trail that eventually leads to the river bed and the base of the falls. The trails are pretty easy to follow, but take note because you can get turned around easily as they all look the same, without paying attention to surrounding landmarks.

The falls and the area are very beautiful and not too many people travel here due to the location. This is a spot we highly recommend!

Directions: From the intersection of Hwy 812 and Old State Rd, in Croghan, Get on Old State Rd and drive southeast for 5 miles. Turn left onto Long Pond Rd and drive for 1.2 miles. Turn left onto Kilbourn Rd and drive for 2 miles. Turn left onto Unpaved Rd and drive .2 miles to the parking area.
