From the parking area near the road, you will see the first picnic pavilion, and the restrooms.

To start, for the first waterfall, you will need to walk back down the road, just where the guard rails begin. You will see the top of the first waterfall. There is no trail here!! Viewing is from the roadside. When you are done here walk back up to the parking to start the main hike.

Head on up the hill towards the restrooms, (the new trail is marked for these directions, the old trail cuts in the back of the first pavilion) pass the restroom and you will see ahead the new pavilion. Follow the trail to the left near the pavilion, trees are marked with blue paint. (From the parking area to this point is .1 mile.) continue along the trail, which has been recently cleared. This takes you to a “Y” intersection overlooking the Helderberg Escarpment. Taking the trail to the left is a very short walk across two bridge, both bridges are at the top of those two waterfalls. Should you continue on this trail it will bring you around to the other end for long distance views of these two main falls. Retrace your steps back to the “Y” intersection, now take the right trail. Within a few feet you will have a birds eye view of the Main falls to your left. Please use extra caution here as there is no longer any fence up for protection. This is a drop off, and dangerous. Here you will continue the trail, it immediately starts it downwards grade, total elevation change is about 1000 feet in .1 miles. Carefully following this trail downwards, you will cross two new sets of steps. Keep in mind this trail can be muddy and slippery. When you get to the bottom, the land levels out. You will come to the stream, (bear left to continue the trail that crosses over the bridge and will eventually lead you to the Oxbow frisbee golf course) here at the stream there is a faint path that leads right, this stream connects to the waterfall seen up by the roadside at the parking area. To go left, do not cross the bridge but instead continue straight ahead, here you will come to the stream that holds the second two waterfalls. Follow the stream to your left. There is no path along the stream to get to the bottom of the main waterfalls. Caution should be used in doing so. To return to the parking lot you will have to retrace your steps, returning the same way you came down.
