Wintergreen Park encompasses several cascades and one really great waterfall called Canajoharie Falls!
Canajoharie Falls is located inside Wintergreen Park, just outside of the town of Canajoharie, NY. Measuring at around 45′ in height, many people have found themselves in danger because of jumping from the top of the waterfall.
The hike to this waterfall is about one-mile round trip, walking on a well-maintained gravel path. It consists of some up and downhill hiking, but should not be very strenuous for the normal hiker. There is no direct access to the bottom of the falls without special permission from the Town of Canajoharie. The top is accessible from Wintergreen Park, but extreme caution is suggested as the creek bed and the rocks around it are very slippery.
Other waterfalls can be found further downstream, inside of the village limits. If you choose to venture to these waterfalls you will find “potholes” which are a great naturally occurring phenomena in creek beds all over New York State.
