Plotter Kill Nature Preserve has over a dozen waterfalls to visit!
The Plotter Kill Nature Preserve is home to over a dozen very small to large waterfalls. Upper (60′) and Lower (40′) Plotter Kill Falls and Rynex Falls are the largest on the preserve and are the first waterfalls you will see on the main trail.
Hiking on the preserve can be easy if the right trails are followed. Keep an eye on trail markers, though, because some of the trails can be quite steep and very slippery.
Each waterfall can be accessed from the top or bottom by well worn paths, but caution should be taken, since rock and slate becomes dangerously slippery when wet. The banks of the creek contain slate, shale and loose dirt as well, so staying on the trails is highly suggested for this location.
